Battles includes Ian Williams from Don Caballero, John Stanier from Helmet, Dave Popka from Lynx and some other guy...sweet. i am going to tortoise!

For 20 bucks...its worth seeing a band like Tortoise at the Rhythm Room.
The new Battles record is amazing, although, I have to work the night they are playing here. bummed.

lichens opened up for them and joined them on the final encore. I didnt really dig lichens' opening set. it was way too mellow and slow - it wasn't bad but just didn't fit the environment it was being performed in. I'm sure listening to the recordings are fun, but for me, it was one of those things that gets really boring to watch/listen to.
i enjoyed it.
