my car has multiple issues suddenly and needs to go to the car doc. i usually go to Hefner's in Mesa because they are super reliable, affordable and honest. i am reeeediculously busy for the next few weeks though, and the time it takes to schlep to and fro Mesa I just don't have. SO, I was wondering if anyone knows of an honest, reliable, affordable mechanic in the Phx area. I live @ 15th st and Northern, basically, and so would love someone within easy shouting distance. (aka not more than about a 15 minute drive) Any suggestions? Not to put a "time limit" on this request, but I am going to drive the Saturn over to Mesa this afternoon if there are no other options, cause this afternoon I have a ride.
thnx

If it's a honda...I recommend the Hon-Man. He's the bees knees, as far as I am concerned. He will even send someone to pick up your car.
If not, I would recommend Chester's Garage on 7th Ave. I think that's where my mom and dad take their vehicles. I suppose he's like a friend or something. He's a super sweet guy and very knowledgeable. 7th ave across from Copper Star.

Awesome - I'm moving to a place that's a stone's throw away from this place and was wondering if they're any good. Couldn't find any customer reviews online. Shizz vouch will do.If not, I would recommend Chester's Garage on 7th Ave. I think that's where my mom and dad take their vehicles. I suppose he's like a friend or something. Seriously! X 2
It's less than a half-mile from the George & Dragon, which is just ridiculous. Same with the nearest light rail stop. Closing on Monday!
I saw a lot of good buzz on this garage in one of the other mechanic threads I found when I was searching - definitely will try them out for all the usual maintenance stuff I'll need done.We always go to Camelback Garage for our oil changes. Nice guys.
My engine light's been on for a couple of weeks now - still running fine, so who knows. Fucking cars.

That happened all the time on my old van, it was an emissions issue of some sort I never fixed. Same thing on my wife's old Civic. A $400 exhaust sensor went out during a test drive after I had listed it on Craigslist. So, we had to knock $400 off the price. My engine light's been on for a couple of weeks now - still running fine, so who knows. Fucking cars.
