i have a couple art exhibits for my students coming up.

the first is this thursday at the art one gallery on marshal way in old town scottsdale. this particular exhibit is for my art 2 students who just completed a historical chair project. The concept is stolen from judy chicago's dinner party, each student selected a historically significant individual or event and designed a chair around it or them. I am very proud of their work and would love for those interested to come out and see them.

the second art exhibit will be for my art one students and a couple 3-D design students. I will repost this when we have a specific date from them, but it will most likely be on a thursday to coincide with the old town art walk. their project was to create ceramic cubes and either stain them or glaze them. they will be stacked and together will create a wall type installation.

hope to see you out

art one gallery is located on marshal way just north of indian school on the west side of the street

basically across the street from frank and lupies.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

I saw the chairs exhibit the other day. Very interesting. I especially liked the Helen Keller and Malcom X chairs.

word, i like those also, especially the hellen keller one because i had the student research past the typical "water" stuff to find out that she was a womans rights / socailist advocate

and the day of the dead (not the movie) chair is awsome

hope to see anybody interested tonight
