do you listen to radio on a regular basis for music?
(i don't, so it's easy to answer that question. sometimes i listen to the classic rock station, but the format gets old fast)

-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

However, surprisingly, the other day she said, "That song's been stuck in my head all day." When I asked which one, she hummed Jay Reatard's "My Shadow". Funny.
But otherwise, radio is dead. Even if some people listen, there's not much by the way of anything new.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I try to take untried CDs out there, but driving takes too much of my attention for me to give them a good listen. I take a grip of CDs on road trips, though.

Only NPR. Radio commercials drive me nuts, and hearing the same 20 songs over and over again doesn't appeal to me.

i've been subscribing to sirius satellite radio since 2005. diehard stern fan. never listen to regular radio anymore. any thing good from regular radio is broadcast on sirius anyhow. all the npr channels, etc. so i dont miss my prarie home companion.
Diane Rehm would kick Stern's ass.

Doubt it, but if you're interested in some real good talk radio, check out Melvyn Bragg.
