simple question.

do you listen to radio on a regular basis for music?

(i don't, so it's easy to answer that question. sometimes i listen to the classic rock station, but the format gets old fast)

Only NPR. Radio commercials drive me nuts, and hearing the same 20 songs over and over again doesn't appeal to me.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Usually to and 'fro my workplace and mainly because my daughter rides with me. Once while listening to Dahmer, she actually started crying. So I refrain from playing any of 'my' music with her.

However, surprisingly, the other day she said, "That song's been stuck in my head all day." When I asked which one, she hummed Jay Reatard's "My Shadow". Funny.

But otherwise, radio is dead. Even if some people listen, there's not much by the way of anything new.

satellite radio only. i'll gladly pay to not have to listen to commercials.

at work, if nobody's around i can get away with streaming internet radio or sites like pandora. but i still don't listen to regular AM/FM anymore.

Emperors of Japan

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I would pay $13 a month to listen to Howard Stern any time I want until the end of time.

I am accustomed to listening in the car, and I'm cheap and lazy, so I'm made for broadcast radio. When I lived in New York and worked for a rock 'n' roll lawyer (oh, crap, not that again), I didn't recognize any of our clients' songs because I never drove a car there.

I try to take untried CDs out there, but driving takes too much of my attention for me to give them a good listen. I take a grip of CDs on road trips, though.

98.7 the peak is usually what i listen to when i listen to the radio. i like the variety. they never repeat the same song in a day and you can usually count on hearing something smooooth. followed by journey. usually i only listen to the radio in the car, when i am sick of my cds

Doubt it, but if you're interested in some real good talk radio, check out Melvyn Bragg.
