-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

oh man, yes. good call. For sure exclusions include....
almost any Wes Anderson
Possible exclusions include...
Wayne's World
Army of Darkness
Shaun of the Dead
If I had to give a top 5 funniest, it would probably be:
1. Ghostbusters
2. Wayne's World
3. Big Lebowski
4. Royal Tenenbaums (i know it's not totally a comedy but i love the deadpan humor... "There he goes...", and the gravestone at the end...)
5. Clerks

I haven't seen the list yet, but Anchorman better be on there, or I will have to do something drastic.
Well, you better start writing your manifesto, now.

Ace Ventura
Movies good enough for the top 25 list that I forgot to include in my first post...
Dumb and Dumber
Movies probably not good enough for the list, but I would insist they have to include them in a top 50 list, but really it's just about my love for lists...
Nothing But Trouble
What About Bob?
As Good As It Gets
Ghost World
The King of Comedy
MST3K The Movie
The Cable Guy
Noises Off...
Galaxy Quest
The House of Yes
Idiocracy
Kung Fu Hustle
Man Bites Dog
Mars Attacks!
Wet Hot American Summer
Wrong Guy

Yes and here is why:Don't get me wrong, i liked Ghostbusters a bunch, but better than Vacation?
I AM partial to Chevy Chase, though.
Vacation character dynamic:
Dad who tries to make his family love him
Mom who can't keep a leash on the dad
Daughter who is more interested in boys than the family and vacation
Son who is learning to look up to his dad
Pretty standard
Ghostbusters character dynamic:
Egon, the nerdy, socially awkward scientist
Ray, the childish scientist
Venkman, the sarcastic goofball scientist
Winston, the black dude just looking for a steady job
These guys just bounce off each other much better than the standard family dynamic, at least, it's different.

to be fair, Vacation takes that dynamic to new places, which is why it's a great movie.
