At my work in Tempe, things were a bit different...
My boss was at work late, here's his car:
the culprit:
Also, here's a hole in the roof of my building. this is from the second floor looking up through the ceiling, through the third floor, the roof, and to the sky:
Luckily the damage to our floor isn't too bad...

and when Ronnie James Dio started singing "Heaven and Hell", the lightning started and was awesome.
It was like out of a movie or comic book where you expect a thunderstorm to start in the middle of a metal show.
Then it rained during Judas Priest and it was epic.
And then I got home and my power was off and is still off, rotting my newly bought foodstuffs.
Sucks about your bosses car though. He might be covered if he spoke with that talking lizard insurance guy.
He's kinda short, you might miss him.

when i got home around 10 last night the power was out (and my roof was leaking into my dining room), and when i left this morning at 8:30 it was still out. i am guessing it will be awhile b4 it comes on in my neighborhood since i saw at least 5 poles down this morning on my drive out of the neighborhood.

it was pretty calm, then all of the sudden HOLY SHIT.
that wind was fucking amazing. i really thought some of the palm trees on my street were going to break or fall over (i was kind of hoping one would fall on my car).
once the rain was finally soaking the porch, i decided to go inside. a few minutes later there was marble sized hail.
so awesome.

Ha! thanks. the sidewalk area is also a loading zone, 20 minute parking area.nice job blurring out the license plate. You should be the video editor on COPS.
why was he parked on the sidewalk?
they lifted the palm off just now, 6200 pounds according to the crane guy and his crane gauge.

just heard that there is still no power in my neighborhood. it's probably hot as shit in my house right now.
that's probably a very accurate statement. assuming shit comes out at body temperature, it would be about 98 degrees. that's the high today in phoenix.
i used a combination of grade-school science and the resources of the internet to figure that out.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
