also wanted to mention that although the AZDD season is over the league has kind've an all-star exhibition game tomorrow with another league called ARIZONA RENEGADES.

To clarify there are 3 derby leagues in AZ- Arizona Roller Derby (most well known, very professional, well regulated) Arizona Derby Dames (semi professional, some fighting/mischief allowed) and Arizona Renegades (one touring team, almost no rules, mostly face-punching in a counter clockwise oval from what I can tell). So it's kind've like something out of a bad 80's movie. AZDD have agreed to put together a team and play the Renegades with the understanding that there will be no face punching allowed and unprovoked fighting ect. Should be interesting; AZDD league games will be held at the Coliseum next year so it's getting pretty popular, exciting stuff....

It is super-fun, and the Dames (and all the other leagues' players, as far as I know) are wonderful members of the community, too.
