I'm looking for a pretty good smaller tube amp. I'm picky about the specs, but maybe one of you's got something?

6V6 pair power tubes
12" speaker (good 10" ok)
normal preamp tubes
tube rectifier
12-15 watts, *maybe* up to 18-20
prefer older or tweed type circuits
tremolo, vibrato, reverb all ok but NOT needed
vintage or modern build ok
probably not more than $500? unless you wanna trade something.
needs to be gig-capable, small, and well built

some ideas might be a fender princeton reverb, deluxe reverb (maybe), deluxe (reissue or clone?), vox ac15 (maybe), old gibsons, old ampegs, old magnatones. but I'm probably too optimistic about prices, but maybe we can work something out. Not looking for fender blues jr, any hot rod models, crate, traynor, or much else in a "modern" tone tradition...

thanks for reading.

I'm thinking about selling my Randall RM50 1x12 combo. I replaced the original Celestion G12T-75 with an Eminence Red Coat Governor. Right now it's 50 watts with EL34s, but it's got an external bias control and can accept any octal based tubes including JJ brand 6V6s (supposedly the JJ brand stands up to the higher plate voltages that EL34/6L6/6550 etc use). With 2 6V6s it should cut the wattage down to 18-22 watts. I've got the Top Boost, Deluxe, Plexi and Brown modules with it. For $500 you could get the amp and one module. Would you be interested? I was actually just about to put up a couple modules on ebay.

The Ampeg Superjet SJ-12R (tube, 1 x 12"). My amp is not for sale, but if you find one I recommend the model. I picked mine up for about $400.

Ended up finding an Ampeg Jet J-12-A from 1964 that sounds absolutely fantastic with my old LP jr.

16-18w, old CTS 12" speaker, just needed a pair of power tubes - and otherwise it appears to be in tip-top shape.

Used it at the Red Owl gig on friday night, and it's by far the happiest I've been with my onstage tone in a LONG time. No pedals, just amp + guitar = awesome natural overdrive.

This vintage Ampeg stuff is pretty great sounding, it's well built, and costs a fraction of comparable Fender gear... I may have to start a collection :-)

here's what it sounds like (song recorded @ red owl, note that the volume is really low - so turn it up on your computer if you care to listen):

not me... but I thought about the Silvertone 1482 he's got listed - 'cept I've already got one of those. it's a near clone of the old Fender tweed Deluxe circuit... at about 1/10 of the cost. dang cool, near the top of my tone per dollar list.

I do have a couple of old JUNKER tube amps for sale real cheap if anyone's looking for a project :)
