it gives ballpark estimates of just about every property you could possibly want to look at, even those that aren't for sale. it's not 100% accurate, obviously, and it overlooks recent upgrades (for example, if you check my house it doesn't account for the pool we put in last year), but it gives you a good idea of prices/sizes/locations/amentities. also, it can totally help you kill time during a slow workday.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I also am pretty sure John (Where Eagles Dare) is also still doing some realty work -- but he's trying to open a tattoo shop on Roosevelt last I heard. I can send you his info, too.

I'm trying to find her card... but Kathleen from Green Lady Killers is a realtor who works in the downtown area. If interested, PM me and I'll send her email/phone.

-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Duane's phone is: 602-430-7404
Web site: propertyinaz.com
like i said his properties are east side, like far east side, but tell him i refered you and that you are willing to look up mls listing as well. he can help you but don't let him try to give you listings where you don't want to be. we told him off the bat that we wanted historic downtown phoenix so he gave us a condo in tempe.
he didn't know that downtown was being gentrified and is a family friend of jen's dad and didn't want us moving into a bad neighborhood, so basically we had to find our property ourselves but then he really helped making sure that the other realtor involved didn't screw us and we got new plumbing and different things addressed before we bought it.
so i hope that dosen't diswade you from using him, just a heads up.

I would never base who I am doing business with on the fact that they do not partake in substances///Be careful not to drink or smoke in front of anyone from Where Eagles Dare or you might get your ass kicked from some choreographed hardcore dancing.
just sayin
John is a stand up dude and knows the area well.... I would reccomend him.... You want a realator who is looking in you best interest and not just into closing the deal...
I also have an EXCELLENT finance dude I would love to refer... 100% excellent and explains everything in real world terms...
pm me if interested

*Totally* helps kill time during a slow workday...It's fun checking out shit in other cities too. I spent a good half a day touring downtown Portland.

Also, while playing around with ZipRealty, I found WalkScore - you plug in a property address and it gives you a "Walk Score" based on what kind(s) of stuff is within walking distance of said property. It will also include a list of restaurants, bars, etc. and how far each of them are away (to the hundreth of a mile) so that you can cycle through and see whats up...

I would also recommend the ZipRealty website in conjunction with Zillow - it's a pretty decent search engine for houses that are up for sale right now. The only potential drawback I would point out, is they sort of assign you a realtor person that will email you, but you can just blow it off if you have your own. Plus it's not an overwhelmingly amount of email or anything. I might end up actually using the guy they assigned to me, since he doesn't seem like that big a jagoff...

my house scored 85 out of 1000 - very walkable - WOO HOO!
the downside: the nearest restaurants are all fast food chains or applebees.
further downside: 3 of the nearest bookstores listed (including #1 and #2) are adult bookstores.
NOTE: i'm only saying the adult bookstores are downside in case the wife reads this...
