Accupuncture and back pain.

I have tried chiropractors with okay results, better results with massage. My issue is those treatments usually require what I feel to be excessively frequent visits. I dont want to visit a chiropractor 3+ times a week for six months at $35 a visit only to feel a bit better... Contrary to popular belief I am not a rich dude, well not that rich...
I want to avoid conventional doctors as long as I can, because I don't want to end up a pill head... but constant pain for about seven years straight is driving me crazy.
word.

-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Acupuncture is great for back pain (this is probably the #1 reason people seek acupuncture treatment).
I highly recommend either of these individuals, they are tremendously knowledgeable and I'm almost positive you will see results.

Jen, i've always been curious about acupuncture... I've had problems with my hip/back/upper-ass area that i've been seeing a chiro for, but it's not hurting right now. Should i wait till it hurts to go see an acupuncturist? Acupuncturer? Acupunctator?

Acupuncture can be useful for recurring pain (I don't think that the pain doesn't have to exist at the time of treatment). Chiropractors do good work, but from what I've learned it's not getting to the root of the problem, which is what TCM and Acupuncture really tries to accomplish.
I've sent you a pm with more information
