Soooo, "Tony" - I was just on the emperors of japan website, and it's got a 10-10 date listed for Shizzfest II...Is it too early to start peeing my pants in excitement?

it's on.

i've had some discussions with JRC to once again make the trunk space the epicenter of this musical earthquake - but we are looking to add some additional stages/venues to accomodate more bands.

it's never too early to pee your pants. that's always been my motto.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

okay, quite a few people have mentioned their interest in the next installment of shizzfest, both here and in real life (and via email).

for anyone who is interested: we're going to talk with the venue(s) and figure out exactly how many bands we can accommodate before we start formally scheduling anyone. in a month or so we'll put out a formal request to see who is interested in playing, and we'll schedule the event based on that. getting the venues and stages secured is the first big step, though, because we don't want to try and cram 30 bands onto a show that can only support 15. rest assured, when we have that straightened out we'll start scheduling bands, and i absolutely promise we'll let everyone know well in advance before we start booking things.

if you have any more questions or need more info in the meantime, please let me know.

Is there going to be a place to set up a Slip-N-Slide at the next one?
