All that shit and more.

Does anyone remember the club at Osborn and Scottsdale Road? It went by a few names: The Blitz, Club 777, The Works...it was 16 and up and me and my high school goth buddies would go and dance to The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxse and the Banshees, etc. It's a parking lot now, but I was thrilled to have a place I could go and dance to the music I loved. This was about 88 to 91.

Kevin

the works!!! and The source.

Chicken Park! That was the one with the fighter jet, right? There was another park right across the street

World beyond was awesome. watched my first "giant ants" type movies. Channel 5!

The Works!

QFT!
World Beyond was Awesome!
Works was great (the original one) I went to the re-opened on down the street in 95-6, but wasn't the same.

Yup, that ws chicken park alright. The park with the Fighter jet was technically "Chicken Park Proper" and the "newer one," with the pond and ducks (Harry Bonsall park, I think) , also was called Chicken Park by a lot of people. Both are still there as far as I know.

I also remember Ev Mecham,

Ev used to live in a big house right by 67th ave and Sweetwaer. In the early 1990s, I once got drunk with a friend, and we threw an old TV in his yard. It shattered and we laughed our asses off and sped away. The next day I drove by, and saw Ev himself, on hands and knees, cleaning it up. I felt real bad, and I have not done something like that ever since.

I would have felt better if Fife Symington was there with him, and they were shoving the broken pieces of television up each others asses. The fact that they were elected to office is sort of the same WTF! I feel with Joe Arpaio getting reelected.

But I digress.

Bob's Big Boy was my favorite! They all turned into JB's in the 90's. No bueno.

back when i was in late elem or middle school, the local high school would always steal the bobs big boy statue from the restaurant and spray paint it the school colors and put it on top of the high school building. They got away with it 3 or 4 times.

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.
