I went fishing out there last weekend, it was *really* nice. Well, we were a little upstream from the tubers, but not too far. "pristine" LOL.

I'd skip the tubing, but if anyone wants to try for some catfish, I'm game. :-)

(also more than a little jealous about a vacation in kauai, mr danosaur)

always down for camping. don't like the tubing as much. too many Caddyshack "baby ruth" encounters for my comfort.

i have never gone tubing on the salt river and have kinda always wanted to go. I have to do it once right? Count me in!!!

Are there turds in the water for reals?

aw yes the salt river! poop, loosing beers, smoking trees, getting in fights when stupid little kids shoot you with thier super soakers and soak your last cigarette becauSE YOU DROPED THE REST OF THE PACK IN THE RIVER AND.. yeah Its always a pretty awesome time!

I shall try and see if the little brown woman that I live with wants to go!

i tubed so much in high school.. ahh the long walk back to the car.
or the long hot ride in the back of someone's truck to the car.

there used to be a rope swing on one turn and or "cliff diving"
but i don't think that's allowed anymore.

it's really quite pretty at points-and you're just floating along....

the last time i went tubing was a few years back. the water level was so low in some spots that you had to pick up your tube and walk down the river with it.

but it was okay because i was drunk.

Ahhh tubing, fond memories of really bad sunburn, so bad I couldn't walk for 3 days......

We still cliff dive

Towards the end of the summer the water level drops but I think there was a bad year a few years back.
We generally go towards the beginning of the summer when the water level is higher and more fun. Beth and I have both had our fair share of being so sunburned we couldn't do anything except rub noxzema on our backs and legs and lay in front of a fan.

There was still cliff diving last time I went. That's already on my to do list for this trip.
