Hard to diagnose without knowing what operating system you are on, and I am making assumptions here:I'm ready to rip my hair out. I just got married and my photographer told me to copy the DVD of proofs. Usually a simple thing to do but my hard drive crashed a week before the wedding. I had it replaced but ever since I can't burn DVDs by copying folders to the E drive. My duo stick won't even work in it. Is there another way to burn my wedding photos through dvd ?
First thing I would do is verify your computer has a DVD-RW ( read\write) drive, and not just a DVD ROM (read only)\CDRW. In other words, you might check to see that you have a drive that can burn CDs and DVDs, not just CDs, especially if your computer is older.
If you do have a dvd burner, you may want to make sure t is working correctly, or ask someone you know who can, to do it for you.
Assuming all is good to go, double check the size of the data (picture folder) you are trying to burn to DVD, and make sure it is not too big for your DVD. For example, most DVD-Rs are 4.7 GB, and if the folder you are trying to copy to it is bigger than that, it won't fit.
If trying to make a movie or copy photos (IE in JPEG or Bitmap format, etc) to a blank DVD, I recommend only using a "one-time" burn DVD, like a DVD-r or DVD+r, not a rewritable blank DVD.
If you are using a Mac and you know you can burn DVDs, here is a link to a tutorial on using iDVD

This video on iPhoto 09 might be helpful to see, too:

If you have Vista with a DVD-RW drive, Windows DVD maker is fairly user friendly, like AnnaT said, and there is documentation on google.
If you have Windows XP or older, and had to reinstall your Operating System on the new Hard drive, you may have to install CD\DVD burning software, especially if you are using Windows XP or older, and I would recommend Nero burning software, if you have to buy it. I think it is like $40 at fry's electronics or Best Buy. If you have a computer like HP or Dell and have reinstall disks, you may already have the dvd burning software on a reinstall disk and you just need to install onto your computer. For example, Dells come with Roxio and or PowerDVD reinstall disks, in addition to a windows reinstall disk and driver install disks.
Hope that helps.
