From Hissyfits Kids Consignment:
We know a group of amazing girls who live in a group home in Phoenix. They were just notified that the state will not be providing funding for them to prepare for back-to-school. I am sure you can imagine how devastating this could be for a high school girl. We have less than a week before some of the girls start school and if we are going to be able to help them- we have to act fast!
We need: backpacks, lined paper, computer paper, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, mechanical pencils, erasers, glue sticks, markers, highlighters, rulers, calculators, 3-ring binders, dividers, scissors, craft supplies- really anything that would be useful to a high school student. We hope to have a backpack full of supplies for each of the nine girls.
We are also collecting gently used contemporary women’s clothing, sizes 6-20.
Any cash donations will be used to purchase the girls a gift card so they can have something new for the first day.
You can drop off donations at Hissyfits Kids Consignment, 7036 N. 7th Street, Phoenix or bring them to the Copper State Tavern on Saturday, August 1st after 9 pm. The owner, Dave has graciously agreed to let us share in his birthday festivities as a fund raising event. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the girls. It should be a great time with local bands Dephinger, Vacation to Kill the Nation, Mission G, FYI, Evolution of the Kill, Big Limn and Dirty Slopez. Amazing prizes will be raffled off.
If you are a business owner who would like to help out we could use raffle items as well.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this message please share it whth anyone you know who might want to help out. I know with all of the amazing people here in Phoenix- we will be able to give these girls a proper send off.
Have a lovely day!
