The author was kind of a dick and stupid, and the other dude was kinda dumb and gross. Everything about it made me mad.

So what's the point of this article? That some poor dude in Mesa isn't as cool as some poor dude from California (some poor dude who takes too many drugs before going on stage and throws tantrums)? That punk music sucks? That once you reach a certain age you should stop being into certain things? You should stop caring about things? Whaaat

I just read the article and thought it was pretty cool. I commend anyone who is trying to do something in the community.
Message board?
This is The Shizz.
Chromelodeon manages to get all the furniture from their hotel into the lake a few years back...and people are worried about shizzies?

...to be fair we do sit on porches...but most of us aren't sad whiners complaining about their crappy little band and purpose in life.
I hope he and his band stays in mesa...and don't pollute the "scene" in Phoenix that he so despises.
and that author is a douche.

Lets just say um yeah, NO!
I have played with his band before and well they made us feel like we were nerds and lame so who is the fucking hipster?

what!?!? There are complainers in Phoenix??!?!?
omg!
i dont know either of those dudes in that article but i liked how it was at least focusing on what was going on in the valley rather than talking about some band from somewhere else doing something that no one in phx really cares about.
more talk about our "scenes" i say!

We'll stop writing songs about people dying in the desert, or dying poor in the streets. That shit's so ten years ago. There's no room for compassion or dissent in today's respectable music.
As far as Dirtnap goes, how do you just discount anything west of Mesa as being part of some lame hipster scene? I don't feel like a hipster for watching awesome bands who play different styles of music.
The article was pretty interesting cause the dudes obviously don't respect each other. But both ended up making huge generalizations about what's happening here. And I don't think either one of them got it right.
Sorry, not trying to burn anyone or sound like a dick. Especially being new on the shizz and all.

Right! I don't get what his point was other than hanging out with some dude that lives in East Mesa who is bummed about moving to Tempe or some shit, whatever.
What finally got me pissed was the author was talking about being too old to be upset about things, trying to make the dirtnap kid look dumb, fuck that, I am pissed off about pretty much everything, and I am "grown" up. I live a normal life that isn't high stress and don't have a mohawk or whatever he was trying to get at, but if you aren't pissed off about a couple things going on in the local/national/global scheme, then your probably a vegetable.
