Reminded me of the 1st wave LA Punk scene.

Reminded why I never really dug much of that stuff.

Anyway, hopefully those dudes start something cool in that area.

I have a real bad problem with people who are way jaded to something that they havent really been doing very long. Its very strange to me.

pretty sure this kid lives in Tempe now, think he works at Greaser's next to Yucca (go fig). Lotta good Folks come outta Mesa but it also harbors a lot of haters (myself included at one time) but that’s beside the point. I think there’s something to be said about a lot of the scenes in the valley and their general intolerance for other concepts. I personally don’t see the appeal of regurgitated rockabilly/punkrock and can’t imagine holding in a higher standard than pretty much….anything but that’s just me. This guy has always been pretty alright and polite to me when I’ve talked to him so it goes to further the idea that assholes are everywhere and people should leave the call to the individual. That being said, all rockabilly kids are douchies and I hate em’ (juust kiddin’). Think I know now why Mikey revised his post 8 different times. I’m not sure if I made any point at all in what I just said, thank you for reading :P

The article didn't make me react one way or the other... The kid was just one in a line of fresh faced kids who's gonna change the world, naive, hypocritical, and perhaps not able to look at himself in the mirror & judge himself by the same standards he judges others....how is some dork-o hipster who has a beard (this month) & plays a silly instrument any goofier than a guy who puts the effort into putting product in his hair, and having a "look", and playing it all agro punk whilst he caters to fuckin' Hot Topic. The writer is a bit older & has lost some of his useful idealism & never was into 'punk rock' anyhoo...I liked his little asides, personally.

I really liked the Descendents, and although I never listen to them anymore, I can still remember what it felt like the first time I heard them.

We all, generally, think our fashion, music, ideals are absolutely right & others absolutely wrong.

The fact that the kid wears fashionable tight jeans & western shirts & chucks & also 'styles' his hair, makes me think he's not that far from being the new asst. manager of the previously mentioned Hot Topic.

So punk.
