it's actually going to be a indoor market with coffee shop and wine bar, we went to one in baltimore over the summer and if it's anything like that one, there will be lots of cool stuff, like ice refige bins with fresh meats and local veggies.

I honestly have no clue, as this is the first I've heard of it. Regardless, I can't wait to go there and check it out.hasn't the phoenix market been happening for a long time?

the phoenix public market (farmers market) is an outdoor marketplace in a parking lot open wed. & sat. the new Phoenix Public Market is an indoor market that will be opening its doors on Oct. 29th (I think they're calling it Phoenix Urban grocery and Wine bar)on 14 E. Pierce St.

Come by to visit and enjoy specials this week plus a happy hour 5 – 7 with local wines and beer and light appetizers. (Tuesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., 14 E. Pierce St. just adjacent to the open-air market.)

Going over to the downtown market to check out the coffee shop this morning (it's an outpost of Royal Coffee Bar). Looks a little high-end for my tastes, but I'll give it a fair chance.
I think today is the grand opening of the place ($45 tickets, see the mayor, etc). Not sure I'll shop there much - hope so - but like the idea either way.
