word. but i also agree with Raub. Neither party gives a shit about the public until it's election time. Then when they lose they cry about how the other dude who got elected is totally going to fuck us over.

we're already fucked over. We've been fucked over since the 20s.

fuck it. let the health care bill die. it's got so many fucked up amendments in it anyways, it's not really a reform bill anymore.

im in a defeatist mood today

exactly. people act like this health care plan is going to make or break America. the left thinks we are all going to rot in the gutter if it doesn't pass. the right thinks if it passes the government will kill you and no more babies will be born, ever.

but the truth is it's a horribly compromised bill now, and whether it passes or not our fate is similar to the giant douche/turd sandwich debate. a year ago it would be worth being passionate about. but the train left the station months ago and nobody got on. there's still going to be unpleasant things in our country regardless.

i don't fundamentally disagree with some of the principles of the republican party. specifically, i believe in smaller government and the concept of states' rights (basically, let each state do their own shit). i also have a tendency to be pretty fiscally conservative. that said, nobody in the republican party can stick to that agenda without fucking it up and getting all churchy on everyone. or sucking the dick of big corporations for more $ so they can keep getting elected.

oh, by the way, i can't think of too many democrats i'm happy with either. this healthcare escapade is going to cost our country trillions of dollars, and as soon as the republicans take back the majority, they'll gut it anyways. is there any politician, regardless of party, who isn't a complete fuck?

show me the candidate who can reduce spending, make sure corporations don't do evil shit, and stop interfering in people's lives (gay marriage and abortion just to name two) and they'll have my vote for life.

also, if a candidate from either party ever wins an election and uses the words "the people have spoken!" in their victory speech again, may they be struck by lightning. the people didn't speak, dickhead. they just hate the other candidate more than you.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

Well gee that doesn't at all sound like what the right says about the left

Thats totally a fair point but the facts are what they are. Democrats are on the right side of history. Republicans are on the wrong side. Why do you think they still try to claim Lincoln? That was the last time a Republican changed history in any kind of positive way and everyone knows the parties essentially traded rolls since then.

This isnt the way to pull people on the fence, to your side of the debate. If you wanna be "technical" about the right/wrong side of history...let me just add, that the only person to ever authorize use of atomic weapons, was a democrat....just sayin

Democrats Vs. Republicans just doesnt work anymore....its way more black and white than that, and you arent gonna get people on your side, by saying things like that.

Your point about Truman is good. I never said anyone was always on the right side of history, just speaking generally. This whole thing has gotten more Dem v. Rep than I wanted. Also, I could give a fuck about bringing people to my side. I don't work in PR, I'm not seeking office. I'm just a person stating my opinion...which happens to be a fact

I agree the plan as it is now sucks. My worry is that that this election result will encourage the Senate/House to not give a shit about trying to make a new one because it'll fuck up their re-election chances. I dunno. Pissing away everything they've put it to this point seems to be a backward step.

Christ, that was a rough 9 minutes. It is cool to know that when I get older someone is just going to mail me a purple pill to euthanize myself though.

Couple really good things about this weekend. We see again that this "movement" is made up nearly exclusively of old white people. They're going to die and I really don't think there are as many younger people who are going to fill that void. Also, after a year of "take back our country" and claiming there is no racism behind it John Lewis, Emanuel Cleaver, Barney Frank and Xavier Becerra can all tell you what the real agenda is and who they want to take the country back from...fuckers
