I haven't read "A Peoples History..." in over a decade...but this dude is pivotal in bringing Marxist History to the masses (not history of Karl Marx, but history from the peoples perspective, Karl Marx was a historian before he was a trendy tight pants college buzz word) Howard Zinn while not greatly respected in my history classes at ASU,but was huge in the "if our schools won't teach us, we'll teach ourselves to understand" train of thought that keeps the fire alive...I hope...
