i tried last year in downtown and it suuuucked. the only reason we did was because liz wanted to go have some traditional irish food (which we both grew up with since our grandparents were born there), which ended up stupid anyway. the place we FINALLY ended up at after trying to navigate covers/etc ended up only having two menu choices and two beers/one whiskey instead of their full menu. bleh. this year i will not be bothering at all.Ok, where in tempe will NOT have a cover this year? haha I have't done this holiest of drinking holidays in a couple of years.

I went to a place on New Year's that was like that. I kinda felt like I was in that scene in the Blues Brothers,i tried last year in downtown and it suuuucked. the only reason we did was because liz wanted to go have some traditional irish food (which we both grew up with since our grandparents were born there), which ended up stupid anyway. the place we FINALLY ended up at after trying to navigate covers/etc ended up only having two menu choices and two beers/one whiskey instead of their full menu. bleh. this year i will not be bothering at all.
"What kind of music do you have here?"
"We have both kinds. Country AND Western."
Only I was in Scottsdale...
"What kind of beer do you have here?"
"We both both kinds. Bud Light AND Coors Light."

The service will start 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and will run through 6 a.m. Friday, March 18.
To take advantage of AAA’s Tipsy Tow, drivers, passengers, party hosts, bartenders and/or restaurant managers should call 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357) and say they need a “Tipsy Tow.” All that's required is the driver’s name, home address, phone number and vehicle/driver location. You don't even have have to be an AAA member.
Tipsy Tow provides a one-way ride for the driver, one passenger and their vehicle at no cost for up to 10 miles. Services will not be provided to motorists requesting a tow to another drinking establishment or to a destination other than their home. A tow to a hotel may be allowed if the motorists is, or plans to become, a guest.
Other services that will not be provided include requests for a vehicle start, flat tire change, gas delivery and/or taxi service. For trips longer than 10 miles, motorists can expect to be charged the towing company’s standard rate.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, one alcohol-impaired death occurs every 45 minutes across the country, with alcohol-impaired drivers contributing to one out of every three traffic deaths.
More than 18,000 DUI arrests were made in Arizona in 2010, according to the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
Launched in 2009, AAA Arizona's Tipsy Tow is the only free program of its kind in Arizona.
