i thought Jon Garfield was dead.
Jon Garfield is fine. He just changed his last name to Arbuckle after his brother, James, was assassinated.

it's moving quickly toward being a funky arts/college ghetto rather than a good ol fashioned poor, gang ridden, primarily migrant hispanic ghetto... still quite diverse & interesting, just less dangerous :-)
Gentrification is awesome until you yourselves cant afford to live there.

I promise you, this isn't something that we're worrying too much about right now... Current economic and housing situation is keeping rent at rock bottom. Maybe someday things will increase a bit, but c'mon, Garfield is never gonna be Willo or FQ Story.

Alright - Alwun House is hosting another one of these things in a couple weeks: Tuesday Oct 5. I'll figure out the time and get back to you. I'm skipping open mic night for this, it's that big of deal. Enchiladas from Ranch Market. Burgers by Dana from Alwun.
Donald, Mig, etc :-) time to represent.

I was at one of these last year where I shared a table with a couple young women cops who worked a squad that did a lot of picking up dudes for soliciting prostitutes... their job involved dressing up like hookers, and to be honest they looked fully capable of playing the role quite convincingly. Note that they were not in uniform at the event :-/
