The new Iphone has some glitches, such as it shorting out on itself if you touch it the wrong way with sweaty hands.
The biggest complaint I have really heard is the service from AT&T, not so much the phone itself.
To be fair, even though I have T-mobile and have never really had issues, I hear T-mobile isn't all that great either.

Low ------ Quality of Service ------- High Low ------ Screwing Customers ------- High
All providers are either on the left side or the right side. So mostly it is just Apple that I don't like. I mean, they make well polished products but I can't stand being locked into their way of thinking. Good on Steve Jobs for making some good arguments on excluding Flash from the iPhones but in the end if I wanna install Flash on my phone I should damn well be able to and Adobe should be able to make Flash for it. And considering how much influence Apple is trying to have on HTML5, I'm not so keen on the "HTML5 will be better for everyone!" argument.
Anyways I could go on and on.

You would know if your phone is rooted, because you would have to root it yourself or have someone root it for you.
ok cool, i found a link in the bossies board to do it, now should i do it? i understand that you can run custom roms, that are usually better than the stock ones. You can overclock, you can read cpu temperature, you can read/write/modify system files that you couldn't before, which allows for more customization. underlock saves battery life right?

I would get more used to the phone before rooting it. It's usually for the more geeky types, it does allow for more customization and such, it's all about how much time you want/have to spend on it.
You would probably get alot more feedback and answers in the actual android discussion
Those guys know alot more about rooting a phone, pros/cons and so on.

you'll be able to get internetz with wifi as off, but you are then on your 3G. If you have unlimited data, that doesn't matter, if you have a certain amount of data per month, you might not want to surf at all unless it says you are connected with wifi. Even then I wouldn't trust it because the wifi can give out at any moment and then the 3G kicks in. I bet if you nerd out with the settings you can figure out how to only surf on wifi connections to save data, but most people are going with unlimited data now.

I will try to answer them as asked:
Yes, because you are now connecting via your phone connection (3g or 2g, 2g being much slower) and not wifi.wifi, to conserve battery i keep this off, but i am still able to get internet connection?
This questions is hard to understand with the double negatives but if it is in relation to your previous statement, GPS has nothing to do with wifi. If you are only talking about GPS, yes it stays off until you turn it back on.i turned it off and that means i can't not get gps untill i turn it back on correct?
I don't know what you are asking, are you asking if you have this app, or are you asking if you should have it, or are you telling us you have it, and just don't know how to use it?power manager?
I don't know if this is really a question, if it states it.it states:
automatically turn on off when connecting or disconnecting charger?
I don't know about this at all.then gives me the options of selecting all or any of the following:
start on boot?
wihi
keep wifi from going to stand by
show visable notifications
then days start or stop
This is all about preference, if you want wifi on startup, I say go for it.
Like Mothrock said, GPS is what eats up my battery too so I only turn it on when I need it, wifi not so much so I leave it on most of the time.
