Srsly...Dating: how much older is too old, before one enters perv territory? 3 years? 5? 7? 10? 12???

Half your age plus 7 is the youngest you can date and not be creepy, that's the formula I tell the teenagers at my work when they ask if it's OK for them to date someone who's 14 or whatever.

So, the formula for how old you can date is 2*(your age-7).

My relationship ceased to be creepy based on this formula...last week.

I was asking cuz I work with someone that I'm thinking about asking out. Thing is, it breaks 2 personal rules of mine: don't date someone more than 6 years younger than myself, and don't date anyone at work. She works on a different floor than me that I usually don't go on, so that is okay, I think.
And, she is like 10 years younger than me, but based on that formula, looks like I am good to go, there, too.

Age really isn't an important thing to worry about in relationships. Maturity and general compatibility are much more important. I should know, I'm apparently the queen of dating old guys. It's not even a preference of mine per se, it just kind of...happens.

I think if you're both grown up and mentally mature adults who "get" each other, age shouldn't be a factor.
