Chromelodeon manages to get all the furniture from their hotel into the lake a few years back...and people are worried about shizzies?

mix of bike & light rail pretty much every day lately...
Do you pay as you go or buy monthly passes or does your work hook it up?

It's a job benefit (actually my wife's job), monthly pass. I ride from downtown to ASU Tempe & back. Takes about 20-22 minutes on the train, usually no problem with the bike (I have a ok road bike, light enough that it's easy to hang on the hooks), and once you learn to time it, you'll rarely wait more than a few minutes for a train. Plenty of shade at the stations I use.
Without the pass I'd probably be riding my bike the whole way most days (about 9 miles each way). I'd be thinner. I still ride one way sometimes when the weather's not too hot.
It ain't perfect, but beats the heck out of trying to find and pay for parking in Tempe. Plus I can nap, read, listen to music, catch up on email, etc while killing time on the train.

i would love to use the light rail/bus but i live downtown and work in north scottsdale. they have express buses that run up and down the 51 but they only run south in the mornings and north in the evenings for suburb commuters. i need the opposite, going north in the morning and south in the evening. I wonder if i could call the metro service and see if i can ride an empty bus north in the mornings and south in the evenings when it makes its loop.
