A little red wine right before you sing can actually help -- but it's an anesthetic and you will hurt yourself if singing is what hurt your voice the first time. If you'll have to sing regularly, you'll need to learn to do it with a relaxed throat.
I agree with the warm tea, honey and lemon suggestion -- also, warm up gently before you sing by humming at different pitches. This will help you do your best.

Perhaps because the cherries in the jar in the fridge, which I just had with ice cream and granola, had begun to ferment. It's helping the headache, too.killing it today mary!
