phoenix scottsdale is only number 6!
Looking nationally, the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area is 2010’s worst place in the United States for year round particle pollution, a mix of dust, soot and aerosols.
Phxers call it The Brown Cloud, and it is, given the political and economic shit storm of the past 30 years, an appropriate—if heavy-handed—symbol for the city.
Here's the list:
1 Lifen China
2 Los Angeles, USA
3 Niger Delta, Nigeria
4 London, UK
5 Dzerzhinsk, Russia
6 Phoenix, USA
7 Bandung Indonesia
8 La Oroya, Peru
9 Lake Karachay, Russia

What about all that land in Ukraine and Belarus that is still radioactive from the Chernobyl disaster? I'm surprised that didn't make the list.
