Well I understand how the buzz of HELMET hasnt been rocking the innernetz, since the last time they had a high impact song most concert goers were in pre-school, so semi expected for this show to slightly fall through the cracks. What does baffle me is how current stoner metal sludge champions BISON B.C. who are main support got nary a mention, hell they arent even in the advertisement in New Times (I found out via Twitter from their booking agent who is based out of Austin, TX). Do these bars just care about liquor sales that much that they dont care what warm bodies fill the stage as long as its loud and a Budweiser banner is hanging behind them? Pathetic. The shows tonight by the way...

My Experience With Helmet 2007, Milwaukee WI

The show wasn't bad, small bar, sounded good.

Coworker took me to the show, his brother in law is the sound guy/road manager for them and a few other bands apparently.

Hung out with them after the show. Thought it would be cool. It was not.

We went to IHOP. Singer is an arrogant dick. Treated the staff like shit. Got to hear some funny road stories, previous night when they were in Indianapolis the guitarist took a bunch of Valium that he got

from one of the colts players. They had to take him to the ER

Night ended with them going to a shitty motel, everyone went to their own rooms. No hot chicks, no parties, nothing.

I realized at that point I was completely wrong what rock stars do after shows... and also that Helmet was not as big of a band as I had previous thought.

Lame.

i've been in pretty much every record store, tattoo shop, head shop, etc in the valley the past 2 weeks and have seen nothing about a helmet show.
