Is anybody looking for someplace cheap and decent to live? The other half of the duplex I live in has been vacant for more than a year, and my landlady is giving me the key so I can show it to people. I get $300 off my rent if I find someone to live there!

Rent is $500. It's a really old building, like 1920s. It's close to 12th St and McDowell, 1 bedroom 1 bath, about 800 square feet, tiled floors (carpet in the bathroom, I think), kitchen looks nice. Pets are OK. Band practice is OK (but you have to be cool with me doing it too). Neighbors are pretty cool. Yard is maintained. There's laundry hookups, and there's a washer or dryer outside that I've never messed with.

I'll post pics when I get the key, and those of you who have been to my house know what it's like.

That is not very far from my parents. If I didn't already have a house, I'd probably check it out. Hope someone gets it soon.

That was the plan. Then I broke up with my girlfriend and started having stupid issues so all life plans kind of got put on hold. I'd still love to move out to Phoenix at some point, but I'm also thinking about staying in LA or moving to the East Coast. Basically: who knows.

yeah, if it comes with a job that allows me to pay said rent, i'll be on the next plane to phoenix.

it's a few streets to the south and a few to the west from me. that's worth moving there for. i've got hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps a fire place in the front yard right now. :-)

If it's still available at the end of February I'll probably take it. Need a cheaper place to stay before I make the move out west later next year.

in addition, it looks like i'll need a roommate in the main house by april which would be $400 a month.
