Calexico will play at Corona Ranch in Laveen on Friday, February 4. It's a special event -- not only is the atmospheric rodeo grounds and party center a unique place for a show, but the concert coincides with the Alliance of Independent Media Stores convention, probably the largest congregation of record store geeks assembled during the entire year.

The Alliance of Independent Media Stores was going to hold their convention in another state this year due to all the negative press AZ gets but Kimber convinced them otherwise. totally rad.

and the calexico show looks like it's going to be awesome! i already bought my tix.

Mariachi Pasion (all female mariachi band) from phx is playing with Calexico!

all tix sales go to a youth organization in phx teaching tolerance.

Aims is a pretty neato thing and has been a great oppurtunity for colorstores last couple albums. Even more important is what kimber is attempting to show all these peoples flying in from around the country. Maybe all y'all can come out for the Thursday, February 5 rhythm room show. Starts at 7 and there's a BBQ.
Plus if the gentlemen who owns hot poop in walla is there you'll want to meet him. An interesting fellow.
