New Cover CD out this month . . .

Being a tween metal-neophyte when they were at their peak (lets face it, I was a poseur), I didn't even realize their was a religious aspect to their songs for a year, but I dug the harmonies and the yellow/black KISS-knockoff costumes.

And I absolutely loved their logo from a design asthetic:

There's a small small part of me that will think about buying this release*.

i know i shared this a bunch before in other threads but
stryper was my absolute favorite band when i was in 3-5th grade.
that was until i learned english and realized that all the lyrics
were of christian nature which at the time didn't seem too cool.
still have to hell with the devil/soldiers under command on vinyl tho.

fucking loved TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL when i was about 7. i thought it was about going to hell with the devil, but not like a punishment. more like a field trip.

i believe i had a solid rotation of BON JOVI lps (taped off of vinyl that i still own. im from jersey, its in the blood), POISON 'look what the cat dragged in', MOTLEY CRUE 'theater of pain', STRYPER, and EUROPE 'the final countdown' tapes in my old school bright red 'my first sony' walkman.

my uncle was a huge fan of hair metal and comic books. i still secretly wish he woulda been my dad instead of his piece of shit brother/my actual dad. although he was also a steelers fan, so fuck that shit

I seriously own a shit ton of Stryper vinyl. Color, Alt. covers, 12" singles, 7" singles, etc....Been thinking about doing a blog of all my Stryper records....

Anyone know a bar that'd let someone do an hour set of this stuff?

Also, @ Negicor, If you want to do a review/over-view of their legacy I can see if Weener would run it in the Trunk Space 'zine. Which would be awesome.

@Donald, yea I think you are right, they did go through a dark or faux-dark period but it was after their fall from popularity, and well after I discovered real punk music and started denying I'd ever heard of them.
