I still have a little tidying up to do in the compartment, but its coming along. It's a slow process and working in 110 degree heat sucks ass!
It's a 350 small block V8. Nothing radical, but it has a good cam in it.

The intake is painted with the old Pontiac silver-blue from the 1960s: sort of an homage to another car I had years ago, a 1966 Pontiac Le Mans (basically a GTO with a smaller engine, though I put a GTO 400 engine in).

Why not go aftermarket? As cool as cars from those days are, they weren't exactly known for their stopping power Nice looking car anyway, looks clean. How long have you had it?

Well, if you count the years before I got my license, I have had the car since 1987, and it was parked since 1992, so it had to virtually be redone from ground up. I started doing that project about 2 years ago, and its still in progress, but it just has a few minor (but important) things holding it up from being on the road, like the brakes, and a couple linkage issues I have to work out.

I had plans of putting all kinds of cool guy stuff, like 4 wheel disk brakes, but cost, and the fact when I started it, it was a now or never thing, I opted for stock brakes. That's just the thing, a car like that sits, and a project turns into a goal, then it sits a while and that goal becomes a dream, then it sits a while longer still, and that dream becomes a fantasy before you know it! So, before it became a never, I scaled back stuff like putting a big block, Nash 5 speed or a 700R4 auto trans with overdrive, Ford 9" rear, and went with redoing what I already had in the car: a 350 small block, with a TH350, and a stock 10 bolt, and stock drum brakes. It will be a weekend car, and sometime work driver, when I am done. Definitely no trailer queen, it will be driven like it should be.
