Just checking but werent 80+ teenagers murdered in Norway? Priorities firmly intact.

I don't understand this attitude.

Norway was a horrible tragedy and my heart goes out to the entire country for both the immediate and long lasting effects...but what does it have to do with this topic?

Are we only allowed to mourn or discuss one incident at a time?

i just posted this thread for anyone who liked her music to be aware that she passed away. and i guess when it's a woman doing it, singing and songwriting doesn't make you a musician?

Jesus. Are you trying to earn your Internet trolling merit badge? Her being a woman is irrelevant. I was saying I don't think she deserves to be included in the same company artistically as the other musicians I mentioned. It's worth mentioning since people keep lamenting her online like she was Madonna.

HNIC, I didn't mention the Norway shooting victims for three reasons:
1- none of them were 27
2- a bunch of them were women, and as we've proven already in this thread women don't really matter
3- I heard the shooter was from Scottsdale, and that town sucks.

Personally I don't think she was a very good musician which is why I don't care. Nothing to do with her being a woman or her struggles with drugs. I'm a fan of plenty of female musicians (listened to an Emmylou Harris album 3 times yesterday), and I'm a fan of many musicians who ended their life early partly because of substance abuse. I don't think anyone in this thread was making a sexist argument about it.

Condolences to her friends and family. Apologies for not being heartbroken over it.

I don't think they were attacking her for being a woman and being in the 27 Club, Janis Joplin is in the 27 Club. It's the argument that everyone in the 27 Club are people who changed music as we listen to it today. Amy Winehouse didn't particularly change music. She was fun to look at and watch, and I'm sad she's dead and never made her big comeback. But she didn't change music. I think that's why people are pissed she's being included with that group of people.

i agree with jacki on all of this mostly because of the value of her physical appearance or the sexual gratification she can give me.



but mostly i just agree because i'm a sappy bitch and it makes me sad when any non-evil person dies.
