It is the most badass place ever in the history of all places that could be considered badass. It's the model by which all venues should base their businesses.
Actually, I've never been there but I'm just trying to convince you to come check it out.

When we got there around 8:15 the place was full of "locals" if you will. The jukebox was playing country music. We went on just after 9 and by the time we struck our 1st chord they had all left. The sound system was okay, but the sound guy asked us to turn our amps way down and I couldn't hear Christine. Part of the reason for that is the strange stage setup, the drums are back in their own little room if you will and only got a kick drum mic. So, the overall volume of the drums drops off and everyone else compensates, that could either be good or bad depending on your disposition.
We went out to dinner with our drummer and his wife before our set and they live up that way. They were talking about how there aren't any good places to eat there, nothing but chain restaurants. I don't understand how so many people could live in that area and there's no demand for any sort of unique culture. This is the only live music venue I know of up that way and the "locals" weren't interested in it at all.

Likewise! I forgot, the draft beers were Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors light and Amber Bock. Man! You call those libations? Once again, you've got the absence of anything unique.

Yeah, it's a bummer. This is the only venue I've seen on the west side that has hosted bands I've even heard of, and really, with The Bovine Fury having now played there, that list now tops off at two (Mergence also played there a few times).
Ha! Indeed...
"locals"

I played there last year with some cats and the soundman attempted to be "cool and controlling". Not too fun, but we did have our own technical difficulties.
Same with the locals, though some did stick around a little. Mostly they gave me the stinkeye.
Apparantly, the owner Donna Jean owns another bar around the corner that the regulars go to when the bands come on.
Really?
