I'll start . . .
Smelly. Hot. Bad PA. Sounds like . . .
Best Venue for Local Acts . . . to me!
We try not to believe the hype, but hey it feels good to be noticed.
Our mantra is: We're only as good as the people we work with.
inc' theshizz natch'
Our buddy Mario got one for his regular FF after-dinrer.
Seriously worth hunting down.
PHX original & TS friend Dr. Zombie gets a nice nod.
(Come see him on the 29th!)
Andrew Jackson Jihad got Best Local Band for the 2nd time!
Torch Theater got Best Improv Collective!
(Has Eraser been around the board lately?)
Revlover got Best Vinyl again--Trax In Wax would be the only competition.
And Ash Ave got Best Comic Shop. The description focuses on what's not the strongest aspect of the place. For 'typical' comic collecting, I'd have probably given the nod to All About or Samuri, but Ash is the best in Tempe, and their selection of relevant & DIY non-super hero stuff is the best.

cant wait to read this! i love this issue every year, i vote every time and this will be my second year going to the party-thing (next saturday)
and as far as ASH...i shopped there for a looong time and i like at least one of the folks who works there enough to consider them a friend, but i dont see how they can win this when they frequently dont open on time, routinely order things for even long time customers wrong (the reason i left), and a multitude of other issues that a small business cant ignore in the manner they do. i wish them well as the main indie shop who stock things no one else in town does, but being the best at something usually entails a baseline of customer service.

Thanks for the shout out, J!
We're pretty excited!
Also, there were a lot of great picks this year.
They included Pool Boy Magazine as Best Dirty 'Zine! Hooray!
