From the Republic
I'm a casual Pet Sounds devotee and of course heard about the legendary SMILE recordings.
I bought the Brian Wilson version he did in 2004 and liked it okay, but it was never the always listenable/amazing Pet Sounds that my music friends turned me on to.
From my non-musician point of view, I simply wanted another Pet Sounds, and SMILE just wasn't it.
I'm curious how it all comes together, and any other thoughts about the whole thing . . .
Anyone planing on buying that new SMILE box set?

Haven't heard it yet. I wanna get the non-mega-box-set vinyl though. The box for the crazy set is really awesome though.

how does it hold up to the Brian Wilson version?
The songs are essentially the same, so the real interest for me is how the recording sound?
I dig the warm very analog tone of pet sounds, so I'm curious if that's preserved in this new packaging?
--what's the run time of the whole thing too btw, is it much more or less then the Wilson version--just curious?
