Recent transplant from the San Diego music scene and I would like to form a band here. Alternative/Post hardcore/Post Punk. Looking for a drummer Age 25-40ish.
The name drop:
Unwound - Radiohead - Engine Down - Sonic Youth - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Girls Against Boys - Shipping News - Pinback - Blonde Redhead - Interpol - Yeah Yeah Yeahs and other like minded bands
The demo mock ups: (drum machine recordings or scratch demos)

An old project: (i was in bands before, omg)

Send me links to your bands, tracks. Gotta have something to show for all those years of playing. I'm no guru but it's not to much to ask that we can all play our instruments.
Not planning on taking over the world or doing any tours. Instead, I would like to concentrate on writing some great music and making some first class recordings. I'm sure we'll think we're amazing and everyone needs to hear us so doing shows would be natural when songs are complete (but we don't need to play them to small bars in Oklahoma or Idaho). I am looking for musicians that care about the time they spend at the practice space, do their homework with thinking and conceiving outside the practice space and constantly challenge themselves with what they bring to the table. We should enjoy ourselves when we play as well as care when we're not.
Any Drummers?

I've had the worst luck .. the drummers have actually gone and played with couldn't keep a beat or tempo

If you replant yourself in the easy bay area, I'm all over this. So lame that I played in amazing bands for 10 years in Arizona and I move to fucking Berkeley and NOTHING! I must be doing it wrong. Sorry to vent on your post. Good luck man. You sound great on paper.
