Larry Crane, editor and founder of Tape Op Magazine and owner/engineer
of Jackpot! Recording Studio is offering more of his now famous "Weekend
Recording Workshops" on Aug 21-22 (a few spots open in this), Sept25-26,
Oct 23-24 and Nov 13-14, 2004.
The event is limited to ten students, and is geared towards home
recordists, beginning engineers, musicians, and anyone who wants to
further their understanding of the music recording process. Sessions
will be ten hours long, starting at 11 AM and ending at 9 PM and
are to be held at Jackpot! Recording Studio, 1925 SE Morrison,
Portland, OR 97214. Classes are $300 for two days, and include handouts
and lunch. During the workshop questions will be encouraged. This is an
opportunity to be in a real studio with lots of gear, with an
experienced engineer who likes to educate people. Previous classes have
gone very well, to full
attendance, with enthusiastic response.

what about you?
I've learned a lot form TapeOp, but evn more just by working on getting good sounds by just doin it, and making it up as I go along, ignoring what I'm supposed to do.....I took a class at MCC w/ one of the guys who teaches at the Conservatory......ugh.......
Check out the Tchad Blake article in the mag.....he's the man...him & Froom.....

I can't make the August date, but would like to shoot for the September one if I can clear my schedule. Who wants to go?
