any renting a house in the tempe area thats not getting gauged on their rent? i keep coming across stupid ads that are... $1200 for 3 bedroom kinda stuff and ive heard of people paying $800 for a 3 bedroom.

it's more expensive in general to rent or buy in tempe. lots of demand.
it's cheaper in the ghetto (werd i used to live there, east of apache & mcclintock).

its not that bad...
After living in Phx for a year and Tempe for almost 6.... there are equal parts sketchy activity.
for the most part i actually felt safer in phx.
can't beat the rent.

rental rates also flow in conjuction w/ school sessions.. Casey Moores is a great barameter for this..

Yeah, i've read bad stuff about this guy.
But rent cost will depend heavily on location. It just depends where you're willing to live at and if its worth it.
