Food- I'm with John on this one- Los Dos Molinos and Sakana and Copper Kettle(mid-east and really good)

update:
Restaurant - Bison Witches (a Tucson fixture recently moved to Tempe. great soups-in-breadbowls and sandwiches and lotsa beer. Sorta like the Dilly Deli but WAY better, and perfect for cooler weather. Mill & 6th.)
