All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

I was on the phone with a friend that lives in Seattle yesterday & told him Emerald was closing and being replaced with a Starbucks. He says, "I'm at Starbucks right now." aaaaaaaaaaafggggghh!!! The behemoth is taking over everything.

When I was in Seattle a couple weeks ago, I literally saw a Starbucks caddy-corner across the street from another Starbucks. I have video proof. Somehow, there is enough demand for Starbucks on that street corner to warrant two of them. Also, there are two Starbucks in the new Legacy Village shooping center at 24th street and Baseline in Phoenix, one inside Target and another next door to Blockbuster.

I can't wait until we all start going to sleep at night safe in our homes, but are awakened in the morning to a Starbucks employee telling us to get out of their store.

Really? In downtown Portland I needed a Walgreens and had to walk about six blocks each way to get to one, but passed at least two Starbucks and a half-dozen other coffee shops on the way.

we almost have the phoenix trifecta at our corner! we have a walgreens on one corner, a starbucks on the other. No check cashing though...will free pregnancy testing suffice?

I saw the same exact thing in New York City.

i don't know what you're talking about...
they're RUNNING OUT of starbucks, they're dropping like flies.
and there are WAY too many decent venues in Phoenix.

What a goddamn shame...
This is the same kind of "neighborhood re-development" (corporate greed) that has destroyed so many venues over the years, they killed Tempe years ago, now they're after the 'Nix.

Get a rope...
