my buddy nick in L.A. has two of the huge apple cinematic wide displays running on his dual G5 tower....when i saw those monstoruos displays side by side i was so jealous...but then again he works with cinematics and production so it makes sense to have such huge hardware...I still poke away on my 15" lamp stand imac...although i just upgraded my memory to 1GIG!! whohoo!! can we say "no more waiting to render" well...at least not as long anyway...my G4 1GHZ pushes all it can but its no 3.0 GHZ G5 like they got out there now...

p.s. Garage band 2 is the shizz!!

Definitely ditch Internet Explorer and start using Firefox instead. Small difference in browsing, huge difference in spyware defences.

Firefox is good. So is Safari, if you have a mac.
i don't know much about computers, but i love my mac and all of it's cool bells and whistles, have had zero problems in 3 years and limewire is worth the money. i've only bought 5 songs off iTunes. it's good, but i just don't have that kind of money. i prefer doing my music research for the cost of $18 a month for the limewire pro version like bautista. it's like going to the library and making photos copies so you don't have to buy the book.
AND, macs are virtually invisible to malicious code that cause computers do take a dump on your desk (or your lap for you notebook users), since the majority of computer owners use microsoft operating systems. i don't even know if i'm making any sense, but it sounds real good.

YES!

I think it is SMART to have one computer that isn't hooked up to the internet that I can use for projects. I'll let the other one get spyware'd up. I don't really care and I am not going to fight it. I would just go insane if I worried about it. I'll just wipe the hard drive if thigs get too bad. No skin off my nose.

FYI I do use firefox and I recommend it to everyone I know. Firefox definently helps cutting down on the spyware, but it's still out there. I think my solution is the best and most absolute solution. I keep my laptop on my desk anyway, so it's right there next to my dual monitors. If I want to surf the web, it's not like I have to go out of my way to do that.

Another option is running Linux, Limewire works fine on it and I have had no issues :)

other than the fact that limewire sucks no matter what you run it on, donald provides the best option.

hooray for safe and secure computing without AV protection and a billion firewalls.

If you use two computers to have a safe internet experience, then you can afford a Mac instead. :) There is NO known spyware for the Mac... the iTunes ministore feature isn't malicious, doesn't report your identity, and is now off by default. If your bad net experiences are all on PCs, you'd be surprised at how clueless you can be on a Mac. I've left my computer wide open on the internet for months with no problem. I had a virus once, about 10 years ago.

Two really sweet alternatives to Limewire on Mac are Acquisition and Poisoned (the latter searches the Limewire, Kazaa, and other networks).

only .10 - .15 a song here. nothing really underground, mostly mainstream.

Emperors of Japan
Myspace

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

i use soulseek on a mac. it absolutely rules. i've never had any problems with it. it's still in beta form, but it works great. they have pretty much everything i've wanted to check out (within reason, of course). i would strongly recommend soulseek. the SXS version for mac is awesome, anyways! so there, mitch (J/K!!).
