i am seeing a sneak preview of ironman tonight!!!!!!! it doesn't look that good but i've decided to go into movies with no expectations so that i can emerge mildly amused.

So how was this anyway?

Nerds far greater than my roommate out-waited us for this event and we didn't get to go. I had to buy my roomie some beer at BevMo to dissolve the disappointment in her eyes.

apparantly there was nerd camping involved prior to the admittance for the preview.

she is going to see it tomorrow though.

yeah, it doesn't come out until mid july eric. i thought it was later into the summer rather than like may or june.

Yeah, this thread has split into

"Jackie's roommate didn't get to see the Iron Man sneak the other day and Jackie is helping by drowning her in booze"

instead of talk of the Dark Knight.

One last word: The NPR reviewer ripped Iron Man to shreds. No one can stop me from going though.

I thought the whole point of Batman movies was to have a new antagonist every movie.

Unless we're going to see the Scarecrow or R'as al Ghul in this one.

It is but you see, Batman doesn't kill his enemies. So does Joker die? If so, how? and why?

Should not die.

Fair enough. But without the added star marketing push, and the looming release bringing attention back to
Ledger and his untimely death, I don't know. I'm still excited though. Geek anticipation level = orange.

Every review I've heard for Iron Man gives it at least passing grade--I bet the NPR one was just all butt-hurt he didn't get to review some arty-clusterfuck of a coming of age/period piece/based on a reasonably true story/blablabla.


Downey was made to play an alcoholic superhero, although it doesn't look like they'll tackle that so much in this one.


Incredible Hulk predictions anyone?
