Many white people get defensive when you call them out on their whiteness and white privilege. That I get.
But I still haven't quite wrapped my head around the "upper middle class liberal" backlash against NPR. Not saying its necessarily unjustified, I just love me my "This American Life," I'm strictly working class for the meanwhile, and I don't see the show or the network perpetuating anything bad against oppressed groups.

Ehh, I think it's enough that NPR exists. The reporters are predominantly white, and for the most part, white liberals listen to it.
You'd be surprised how many fund raising dinners I've been invited to because I happened to catch the same Karl Kastle report they did. I don't even have any money! And I'm brown! I totally get it. Just don't get your panties in a bunch over this. It's like the Colbert Report for minorities on class re-identification. It's like Rob Schneider is a pop up on the website saying "You can do it!"
