I bet you couldn't make it through a cold night inside the sliced open belly of one of these. Prolly smells better, though.

The article calls it the AT-AT of the Pentagon.

That's totally awesome and looks like something out of Silent Hill.

I'm curious if there are any concerns with bringing advanced robotics like that into the field and having durability or repair problems.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

i heard a thing on NPR the other day about some folks working on nano robots that would link up and do tasks larger than what only one of them could do...like ants forming a chain for other ants to walk over... Or maybe like Voltron. They could crawl through a tiny hole and form into something bigger on the other side. Talk about creepy.

The host actually asked if they could turn bad and take over. I think that's a perfectly reasonable question.

You should read "Prey" by Michel Crichton, it's about nano robots gone wild.

He's writing a sequel to it, called Nano Robots Gone Wild: Spring Break Edition.
