and (it gets better)
He's all for restricting your individual freedoms and access to healthcare Because you are dumb and can't decide for yourself.

Candidtate quotes
yeehaw!
i am sure all you smart shizzies weren't gonna vote for him in the first place but i must shamefully admit that for a good time i thought McCain was at least a moderate republican (one that i wouldn't be scared of taking office) but no, he's the same old shitty shitfaced republican. Yeah anything's better than Bush but that means anything; a ham sandwich, a cookie, a monkey in a spacesuit, a bitmap file, Paris Hilton....anything.
just wanted those out there who are gonna vote to know some shit is going down.

Not giving money to countries that need it just because they promote responsible reproductive health care (i.e. birth control and condoms) is fucking lame and embarrassing.
I'm sure he's a cool guy to hang with (hey gramps let me show you how to use email) but i would never give my vote to someone who hates on women and is going to try to restrict my access to affordable and safe healthcare.
Access to reproductive healthcare is an essential cornerstone of a healthy democracy and robust economy. restricting individual access to it just keeps the poor people poor and the rich people rich. and we all know republicans don't want any of that.

that's all cool but just don't question his military career.
Why not?
or
What is there to question?
The fact that he had a military career and was a POW has no bearing on his candidacy.
In fact, he should be more understanding of health issues bearing down on our citizens and veterans who do not have the care
they need, or govt. officials who do nothing for veterans suffering from PTSD, other mental illness, amputees etc.
Shouldn't he be voting down the war effort? It does not make a lick of sense to me (his standpoint).
Being from AZ, I can tell you that as our Repugnantcunt State Senator I've never liked him.
Even as a child I thought he seemed untrustworthy, and children are often a good judge of character when it comes down to it.
Seeing his face everyday turns my stomach similarly to the way GWB's does.
ps anyone else get completely annoyed by his lockjawed speech patterns, and his whistling S's? Take a listen, you won't be able to unhear them.

Just curious: why don't you like Obama anymore?I was originally going for Obama, but lately I don't like either one of them.

it was a bit of sarcasm. Wesley Clark mentioned that his military service as a non-qualifier and people jumped all over him.

Point taken.
The difference is Wesley Clark would've made a fantastic president.

That said, I would never denigrate his service to the country, even in a war that I don't know that I would've believed in at the time (I'm guessing I wouldn't have). The guy was captured, imprisoned, and tortured for over 5 years - it's a pretty reprehenisible thing to have to experience. There have been rumblings of Obama/Democratic-supporters trying to focus an eye on the small bits of compliance by McCain with his captors, but I think that's wrong both ethically and strategically, the more important being the former. Of the latter, there are so many stronger, more legitimate bones to pick with him on serious issues that people actually care about.
I think what General Clark was trying to say that service in the military doesn't automatically directly qualify someone for the role of president, and I think that's mostly true. Conversely, not having military experience shouldn't necessarily disqualify someone from office.
When I read the title of this thread, I was pretty sure that it was going to concern McCain's love for Abba, although I don't find anything particularly douchey about that.

a great, non-partisan site for seeing how the candidates stand on issues (in their own words) is procon.org
a few minutes on that site will further prove that mccain is nowhere near as moderate as he has pretended to be in the past.

I can't believe there was a time when I would have actually considered voting for him. For some reason I used to have this idea that he was an OK dude.
Those feelings, needless to say, are long gone.
