Got alot more for ya!

First up, a collection of quick clips of McCain contradicting himself or looking very foolish or uneducated about important topics:

Next, we've got McCain eating his own words and talking about withdrawing from Iraq:

Here's McCain on Ellen looking awful nervous, she asks him about Gay Marriage (in case you haven't seen, McCain is on commercials telling people to vote against gay marriage in states currently trying to decide)

She asks him why she doesn't deserve equal rights, and he pretty much just just asks like a pussy and tries to appease her and still remain true to his gay-bashing supporters, but when you're sitting next to somebody being as friendly and nice as can be like Ellen, suddenly the whole debate just becomes inherently stupid, and anybody with half a brain knows what is right and what isn't.

I saved the best for last though. This one is an absolute deal breaker for me; a little background first:
Recently, a very landmark case went before the Supreme Court of the US (there were 3 biggies all at once, actually, hopefully you know about all of them)
In Boumedine V. Bush, It was ruled that even suspected terrorists still had the basic human rights afforded by our Constitution, including Habeas Corpus. This was to get around the fact that our Government, being the nice and legal institution it is, found a loophole where it could ship people it really didn't like off to this little place called Gitmo, and then trample all over their rights and do as they liked. Its atrocious, this is the sort of thing that should never be necessary, and I can't agree more with the Supreme Court.

Here's the crazy part, Presidential Candidate and Senator John McCain's response to the ruling:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF0zTv3AFaE
"the court rendered a decision yesterday that I think is one of the worst decisions in the history of this country."

There is no getting around it. That statement is just plain evil. McCain has just announced (to the glorious fanfare of the Republican Party) that he is in favor of torture and the removal of human rights.

I was originally going for Obama, but lately I don't like either one of them.

Just curious: why don't you like Obama anymore?

Although I can't verify it, Snoop has accused Barack of recieving funding from the KKK.
http://www.starpulse...s_barack_obama_

Barack Obama’s decision not to take public funds for the general election was a total reversal, breaking a promise made when he thought he couldn’t succeed without it and that no Republican could succeed with it.

Jeremiah Wright also turned me off of Obama

Originally I thought he was different, now I realize how silly it was to think that. All the politicians in the two party system are the same. It's just that some wear more makeup then others.

Just to be clear, I am not defending McCain by talking smack about Obama. I think McCain is worse than Obama but I will not be voting for either one of them.

Out of all the things you could have responded with, Snoop Dogg claiming KKK contributions was not anywhere on my radar
I don't think that even makes sense...

The KKK gave Obama money. They was (sic) one of his biggest supporters... Why wouldn't they be?

Uh, because the KKK hates black people, and probably hates muslims, and the right wing republican camp is much more notorious for supporting an all-white meat America? I wouldn't base my vote on Snoop Dogg's pot-addled brain...

I don't think any candidate will ever be perfect, but if it comes down to McCain (someone who is obviously not fit for the job), or Obama (someone who may or may not be based on various claims, but overall shows promise) I'll go for Obama.

I'm just really sick of seeing some "bad" thing about Obama coming out every week and having a new group of people groaning and bitching about how they knew he is a scumbag. Too many knee-jerk reactions based on headlines and not contextual facts.

Why is it that McCain used to be a straight-talking, more sensible and moderate republican?
It's because he's a pretty smart guy somewhere deep on the inside, but he completely sold his soul to get where he is now.

Dude is a complete puppet of the neo-conservatives at this point it couldn't be more painfully obvious. Fuck that d-bag.

Good post, cliffhanger

snoop dogg as a reliable source?
if snoop dogg says it, it must be true! ;)

i agree with raub. obama's policies scare a lot of people. plenty of ceo's, the ultra wealthy, and conservative groups are shaking in their boots at the prospect of him winning. so in the absence of real dirt, we continually hear this garbage about the kkk, or his not wearing a flag pin, or his middle name. i find it all pretty funny.

as far as public campaign financing, he had actually originally said that he would use public funds IF his republican opponent did the same. mccain is using private funding, so he never really broke a promise. a lot of people don't know that though, you actually have to read the direct quotes rather than just the media soundbites.
he's certainly not perfect, nor are his policies, but i think he's the best democratic candidate (with an actual chance to win) we've had in my lifetime.

it's a testament to the apathy of our generation that some people aren't voting at all. what did not voting get us the past 8 years?

the apathy of not voting comes from the apathy of finding out the facts. if a headline doesn't spell out the truth, we're doomed because most people just read a headline and that's it. unfortunately the media must be privy to this, because they make their headlines more engaging, and use carefully selected words to seem ambiguous or even flat out false. unfortunately it doesn't get people to read more than the headlines... so it creates an even worse situation.

happy 4th america

the apathy of our generation?

You will never have 100% of the people going out to vote. But currently we have the highest turnouts in the polls in the last few years then ever before. This primary season was one of the most amazing turnouts ever.

As a whole I would dare to say we are less apathetic then ever before, mostly because Bush is probably the worst president in history.

If you are talking about the apathy amongst those who are not voting, I will agree with that, but don't lump everyone in "our" generation into that.

I don't care if a candidate wears a flag pin or not, I don't care if he is black or white, man or woman, or likes dressing up in their mothers underwear before going to bed. I don't care what they drive. This goes for any candidate. What I do care about is who they associate with, what their motives are to changing their minds on things, is it for votes or is it for the well being of the people he/she wants to represent.

Happy 4th :)

I think there's a lot of people in our generation that vote, but are still lazy, apathetic assholes.

i didn't mean to offend anyone by saying that our generation is apathetic. perhaps we should all pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.
