I don't think you're right about that. I doubt any of these people will have any concern at all about what they looked like last week. This.. THIS is THIS WEEK, it's totally different than last week.
or, they will look exactly the same 20 years from now.

The LIFE photo archive is now hosted by Google. Just add "source:life" to the end of anything you're searching for, and voilą! I found it to be pretty neat - your mileage may vary.
That actually will be extremely helpful for me at my job. Kids come in to the library working on a report and need a bomb picture of Thomas Edison or Charles Lindbergh...I know where to send them.

Yeah, that messed me up at first too - all of those decade sets have additional search criteria attached (the 50s = "1950s Walt Disney", 60s = "1960s Apollo Space"). If you just do "1950s source:life", you should get better results.
