The best thing that I did this year was when Shawn and I crashed the John McCain afterparty on election night, right after he gave his concession speech, to see all the morose Republicans. I took, as a souvenier, one of the wine glasses that was discarded on the grass in front of the stage like so much garbage.

I don't usually do exciting things like this, but Obama's win made me feel like I was 16 again and not afraid of anything.

The Wire - Season 5 concluded in early 2008. A beautiful end to a magnificent show, even if HBO.com spoiled the death of one of my all-time favorite characters to ever be created, in any medium.

The Wire - Season 5 concluded in early 2008. A beautiful end to a magnificent show, even if HBO.com spoiled the death of one of my all-time favorite characters to ever be created, in any medium.

a friend of mine turned me on to this show. i remember way back when wallace was killed at the beginning of the first season i told him, "i cant believe they did that to wallace!" and he laughed at me and told me to brace myself. boy he was right. but AWESOME series.

Woooooooo!! Another fan! I can't sing enough praise for this show.

Wasn't Wallace killed at the end of season 1? I hated Poot and Bodie so much for that, but it unfortunately had to happen. Yeah. it just got worse from then on...I don;t remember the dock episodes much at all since I watched them all in one sitting as I was high on painkillers recovering from an operation.

Ahhhh. The docks. I loved season 2. I was a big fan of ziggy. I still need to see generation kill as ziggy is the main actor in the miniseries. Yeah....I never forgave bodie.
